  1. I'm with Bigjohn on this:  The Decathlon has been my favorite in all the Olympic events over the years.  It is a shame that I could only see bits of it.  This event means that the gold medal goes to the greatest all around athlete in the world.  Not much attention was paid to this on any of the channels I watched.  Congratulations to Bryan Clay.  A lot of us here in America are proud of you.

  2. Like Big John, I was hoping to see the Decathlon, but our television coverage was pathetic (Australia). If there was no Australian competing in something, we didn't get to see it.You'd have thought that the decathlon was not on at all.  From what I did get to see, I'd say that the men's gymnastics was incredible. Those guys all deserve medals.

Have a good evening too - its midday here and I'm busy vacuuming ! (But when I got to the computer room....well you know how it is ! YA beckoned !)

  3. Hi Dizz. I enjoy watching a lot of sports that I don't normally watch because I know all the athletes prepared for this olympics for a long time.

Last night one of Jay Lenos guests went on about what all the gymnasts had to do to when the gold medal. So many different and difficult talents that are involved and required of the gymnast. Then he said the guy walking fast gets the same gold medal. What a rip off he said. I don't agree, just thought you might also see the humor in it.

  4. You are right, the gymnasts' performances are amazing.  The feats that they exhibit are graceful, stunning, and remarkable.  I can't help but think of the many times they fell, and the injuries they endured to get to their places of excellence.  I can't imagine jumping up in the air, turning a somersault, and landing on a four-inch beam.  I think I'll go practice...not.

  5. There is a rumor out there that there was a Decathlon and it was won by an American. But with NBC  running things you would never know it. The Decathlon is the true measure athleticism yet I do not know if they ever ran it, maybe at 4 a.m.

  6. I enjoyed the water sports ( all of them ). Maybe because I can't swim and wish I could LOL

  7. I enjoyed watching all of them

  8. I think it is wonderful that so many folks can  compete in so many events.I love the gymnastics. They make my legs hurt to see how the stretch. But i guess my favorite of all is the swimming events as i use to go swimming alot

  9. figure skating, ladies especially

  10. I tried to watch as many as possible. . .still haven't caught up on my sleep . . . loved the swimming, gymnastics, and that last basketball game was something else ! !  Hated to see them end ! !

  11. I enjoy the Equestrian events.  I've always loved horses and how graceful they are.  It's nice to see man and animal work as one.

  12. i just like to watch highlights of a few events, the rest (95%) is boring .

  13. i like the down hill wheel chair event..and the 100 yard dash with the walkers...but seriously..i like the decathalon and i never even saw it this year..they were to concerned with beach volley ball and phelps and basketball

  14. I have to agree with you on my favorites, the gymnastics and the ice skaters, but I must say that I like to watch as much as they show on prime time and at times, late into the night.

I wasn't happy with how the media handled it this year and I don't understand why they made it almost impossible to watch basket ball or to find it at a decent hour..

I like both summer and winter and I'm looking forward to the winter olympics being in Vancouver in 2010.

    I bet you are to.

    DeeJay.

  15. I'm usually napping during the Olympics.
