  1. It's fine.  It's better to have a stable pH than mess around with it trying to keep it at any one level.  Most fish are quite adaptable to pH levels as long as they stay constant.  Ammonia, nitrite and nitrates are far more important.

  2. It depends on the fish...but...for most species this is good. As long as you don't have sensitive species it is better to have a stable pH then to trying to get a specific pH

  3. it depends what type of fish you have, some require more or less than other. but overall 7 is about neutral so good job ;)

  4. 7.6 really isn't that high. If this is how your Ph is naturally, I would leave it. It is far easier to raise a Ph then to lower one, which can be very tough. What kind of fish do you have? For the most part 7.6 will be close to the natural range of most fish but even fish that that have a lower range will do fine in that Ph as long as you acclimate them slowly. A steady Ph is far better then one that flucuates. I really wouldn't worry about it.
