Hi there, Im planning to install a DVR in my car, i have th unit but not sure how much electr it consumes?

I have the unit here, but not sure how much electricuty it consumes. It will be connected to car battery and im no sure if i should install a seconds battery because i want it to b running while im not in the car

Does the DVR run on AC (home electricity) or DC (Car battery)?  If it runs on AC you will need to purchase an inverter.  These can be found at most part stores and even Wal-Mart.

I had a similar situation and I added a second battery. When I parked the car I had a switch that cut the second battery out of the circuit so if it went dead I could still start my car.

Look on the back of the DVR for power consumption and convert it to 12 volts. I can tell you that if you are going to run it for hours without the car running you will need a second battery.

Norm
