aussie rules is much like rugby and soccer joined together so i need the endurance, the speed, the power, thnx

  1. Since you will be doing a lot of sprints,I'd recommend having 2 days of speedwork/weight training each week.  I'm guessing the field is around 120 meters or yards long (like soccer), there isn't really a reason to do more than 200 m sprints.  Just do several reps with walking breaks in between.  

    To build your endurance have one "long" day each week.  I would try 3 miles at an easy pace.  It's important to keep your heart rate relatively low, so if you have to walk sometimes it's ok.  Your VO2 max (measure of endurance) will benefit more if it is slightly elevated for long periods of time.  Good luck.

You need to cross training for your sport.You need some distance training along with sprints.So i recommend first distance training .Start with first 1600 meters and build up to longer runs .Then some days do sprints like 400m 0r 800m ,600m.You also need to lift weights to get stronger  especially with your legs .
