It's been a week since my family last saw her. We've done everything we can to find her, but like I said, it's been a while, and there are plenty of coyotes, foxes, and dogs in my neighborhood, so I'm just trying to accept that she's never coming back. I spent half my life with her, and I've never had a cat or dog run away before, so this is really hurting. Any thoughts or experiences? I just want someone to talk to about it.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about you cat...I just lost my cat I had for 5 years she died of an infection i had to put her to sleep..then  a month later i had to put my dog to sleep i had her for 12 years.......they are part of your family it is the hardest thing ever ......i think may be your cat might be withe a neighbor being feed and loved..think positive.....she just might show up on your doorstep...keep the faith....don't give up keep looking..........

  2. i knew a friend who moved to a whole new city with her cat and didn't let her cat out at all. it got out, she went out and looked everywhere but couldn't find her, a few weeks later the cat showed up at her doorstep. don't lose hope. I know how hard it is to lose a pet or feel like its lost, i got my first kitten he is about 6 months old now, i can't even bare the thought of losing him, i am so attached. good luck with your cat, i wish you the best.

  3. My cat was recently killed by a coyote at the age of three...it was extremely hard to deal with at first. After awhile you have to accept that your pet is gone. I recommend getting a new kitten. They are really playful and loving, and they can help you get through the hard times.

  4. well my friend lost her cat and i just help and said it ok and than shse got a dog and she feels a lot bettter now because she can do the same thing she did to her cat. i hope u feel better and find him.good luck

  5. I have losts many cats... one hit by a car, one ran away, one killed by a dog and most recent in april my cat PJ died. I am 25, still live with my mom and moved near on a mountain. I begged my mom not to let him out any more. He died a horrible death of other antifreeze or eating a piousness lizard. His death affected all of us-my mom and I, my dog and my other cat. We were depressed. I got  another cat two weeks later. A free rag doll like all most full bread. I think it is better to know if your cat is alive or dead because you wonder if she is o.k. Well all you can do is see if she will come home. Some times people will keep a cat that is not there's. Time will tell. If you get another cat keep it inside to keep safe.

  6. Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  7. Awwe I'm really sorry to hear about your kitty.. I'm hoping he comes back!

I lost my dog of 17 years a year ago, and I still miss him alot, and think about him all of the time. They're like family members and losing one is extremely hard on your heart.

  8. it's a cat just get another one and move on. Just joking there is a chance it will come back cats are smart like that don't give up hope.

  9. My grandmother had a male cat when I was a kid.  He disappeared for about 3 years, and I was so happy when I saw him again.  And, your cat just might be taking care of a new litter of kittens.  But, if she's gone forever from this world, just know that you gave her a good life.
