  1. To me it depends on the type of grease.

Car/mechanical grease- I recommend buying a product. There are tons on the market, but gojo and stuff tend to be highly recommended. You can buy it in the auto part section/store. My family is full of car loving covered in grease types and I think just about all of them use it. It works on hands and laundry. If there is a ton of grease this is probably the way to go. If it is a one time thing of a tiny spot you can try just detergent right on the spot.

For kitchen grease, I've tried everything but still always have a faint spot left. It's more noticeable on certain colors or materials.

The best thing to do is try stuff. Just make sure after trying something to NOT dry it in the dryer. The heat will set the stain. Try one thing, let it dry a bit naturally, if it didn't work try something else.

Recently I found  a bar of "Carbona stain Soap" that my houses previous owners left. I've been using it on tons of different stains and it has worked wonderfully on everything so far, but I haven't tried it on grease yet.

    Good luck!

  2. try ordinary washing up liquid its designed to remove grese and fat so i think it might work on grease stains.

    hope it works

  3. use Dawn dish washing soap and apply to the spot. wash like you would regularly.

it got grease from a bridge out of my jeans.

  4. Pine Sol.

  5. If you're in the UK Tescos (and probably everybody) sell Dylon stain remover. I have used it many times and it works really well. It is a small applicator with a little pad on the end - just rub the stain before you wash the item, so easy to use and lasts for ages.

  6. You can get special soap (like gojo, or usually any of the soap they sell at an auto parts store) and rub it into the stain.

Then wash as hot as possible.

That works for my husband's stuff after he's been working with grease.

  7. My favorite is just wetting the shirt then applying a good liquid laundry detergent directly on the spot. Rub the spot together vigorously for a few minutes, then just throw it in the wash. I highly recommend either Tide or Method laundry detergent for doing this. I've tried it with cheaper detergents and it just doesn't seem to work.

Otherwise, I've also heard that dish soap works too, but I've never tried that.
