Hi there=] before i start i would lik,e to tell you that i am aware of the 'inch per gallon' rule, but i have heard from fish expert after fish expert that that rule is c**p. so, i have chosen to avoid it and go with my own judgement. so heres my idea. i currently have a 10gallon freshwaer tropical tank. after i rid it of my snail infestation (i got a plan, dont worry=]) i plan to switch piut the gravel for black gravel. the plants i have are green and redish-orange (theyre fake) the hidey hut i have is this one:

i alsohave this little figurine about 2 inches tall that looks like one of the easter island statues.=D i currently have 1 dwarf wag platy. i want to get 5 or 6 BLACK neon tetras, and 2 or 3 more Dwarf wag platys. what do you think of the idea? im also getting a black background. do you think it sounds cool?? =]

  1. That sounds like a great idea. They only thing I am wondering is if you have a black background and black gravel how well will the black neon's show up. I know they have the yellow strip on them I am just trying to picture it in my mind :)

  2. I can't seem to find any info on dwarf platys, except that they might be a stunted version of the regular platys.  I'd be tempted to stick with a nice school of the black neons, maybe 7 and forget about the platys.

And good for you for not believing the 1"/gallon rule.  If that were true, you could put one 10" fish in your tank - how would he be able to swim?

  3. Yah that sounds totally cool and I think it would be a great idea to add those fish to your tank. Good luck with the snails! haha.

    =)

  4. i dont hink you should get ornaments they look takkey

  5. hi. the inch per gallon rule is a "general" rule of thumb. It means more when the fish are a bit larger in size than the species you have (bigger than your hand).
