Hi we bought a 1993 Hitachi projection tv and no sound comes out of it? can anyone help

this is model 46EX3B and is used the speakers are connected and the mute isnt on on our remotes, we cant even hear the snow on the screen when the cable isnt connected to it, maybe someone had one of these and can help us out or knows about tvs and how to fix them, I think we got ripped off on this deal:(

If you actually paid money for a 15 year old tv, then yes, you were ripped off.

If you bought a 1993 Hitachi projection TV, you should have checked out the TV before you bought it. After all, it is a 15 year old TV. Try clicking the "Menu" button and see if there is an option for muting the sound.
