  1. We are amazed at how the citizens of an apparently civilised country can know so little about the rest of the world.  As long as you have an open mind about how things are different to "back home" and can accept that other people do things differently your ignorance will not be too much of a disadvantage.

  2. You're alright, better f you were Canadian though, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, it's what we think of you as a person.

  3. Most don't care were you are from as long as you act as yourself and don't think you are better then anyone else, other wise you will find a very cool reception here. But other then that I can not think of any reason why people over here won't like you.

Edit - I would also like to add what Iansand said that you must keep an open mind when here because we might act like you (or you like us) but just because of that you need to keep in mind that we are Australians and not Americans with a different accent. But other then that nothing else, come over and have fun.

  4. in general Australians think Americans are silly, becauseof their views on australia and the whole kangaroos and kolas in our backyards. but

australia is such a multicultural place..anyone from any country who visits is treated very nicely and never hated.

  5. - Stupid

    - Ignorant

    - Loud

    - Over opinonated.

Though I'm sure this is a case of the minority ruining things for the majority. But this is the honest general conception.

You will be more then welcome in Australia, the fact you know of Australia proves you don't fit in the above categories.

I hope you enjoy your time in Aus and if you have any questions feel free to email me via the link on my profile.

  6. Australians tend not to feel any different about Americans than people from other countries.

It all comes down to you as a person.

My best friend was originally from America and I don't hold that against her.  :)

  7. We think they're nice people but we can't understand why they are so into guns and God. You'll be welcome.

  8. Some are stuck up, for example Paris Hilton. But, normal people, u are alright I guess. I feel sorry for the Families who someone died in 9/11 though

  9. I think most Australians would take you on face value.  Personally, I don't think of a person's country of origin as a defining feature.

As long as you don't constantly criticise Australia and its customs and lament how much better it is at home (as some foreigners are inclined to), you will love it!

Enjoy your stay when you get here.
