Living in Mexico,Guadalajara, for 15 years I can tell you it  has changed. Traffic has increased and it is still a third world country. Prices like the US here have increased.  Food generally is the  same , price in the supermarkets here are the same. Buying a car here cost more because of  taxes.  Banks pay hardly ant interest. Guadalajara itself is growing with condos and apartment  houses and not cheap. Salaries are low,. now again medical, universal healthe care inexpensive and good. GAS is  less expensive here. The main  and best about Mexico are the people who are really great and always helpful, even if you do not speak the language.

All countries have their own place for their own reasons in the world. Mexico has a lot of cultural values and has a very, and I mean very, rich archaeological history.
