Hi I have 38''Philips HDTV/LCD 720P & I use components cable from Monsters brand. I setup my HDTV to Widescreen & set my Wii on (16:9) mode & 480P mode. If my setup is perfect then, why I still have little grainy graphics? The graphics look much worst when I play Gamecube games & classic games.

When I play my Wii a SDTV, the graphics looks good but, why is that? Maybe is because Philips makes sorry HDTV? Thanks.

  1. The Wii isn't meant for HDTV's. Nintendo didn't take the time to design it for big HDTV's. It's mostly better on SDTV's.

  2. The Wii's maximum output is 480p.  It will use progressive scan if you have an HD TV, but some virtual console games (esp N64 ones) that won't use the progressive scan feature and only uses 480i (standard def resolution), it gets to be very pixelated and grainy like you said.

A firmware update that would allow for higher resolutions would be nice, but I doubt it.
