  1. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ This web site has a journey planner, so you can see for yourself.

  2. Take the Piccadilly line (tube) to London and take either the DLR (Docklands Light railway) or a Bus. Do not take a taxi, unless its a minicab, as Black Taxis Charge A Fortune.

Go to www.yell.com and search for Minicabs in Heathrow, and book a Cab to take you to London City Airport, will cost around £60 ($120) - The Tube will cost a mere £7.20 for a daily pass.

    Enjoy your time here....

  4. Piccadilly Line from Heathrow to Green Park

Change to the Jubilee Line and go to Canning Town.

At Canning Town there is a connecting bus to London City Airport.

This will take about two hours and the cost depends on the time of day because it affects the types of ticket available. You're looking around the £6-7 area.

Alternatively, you can get the Heathrow Express to Paddington; change to the Circle Line and go to Tower Hill; walk to Tower Gateway (about 5 minutes) and get the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Canning Town (for the bus). This will be about 30 min faster but the Heathrow Express is £15 and then you have to buy your tube ticket.

Don't use a black cab. These will charge you a fortune. Don't use any other taxi from the airport either because it is illegal for them to ply for hire there and many so-called mini-cabs are unroadworthy and use illegal drivers.

You can also go by bus, which would be the cheapest option. But that would be the most complex route and take you about four hours if you were lucky.
