Each US president has roots elsewhere. Included among the list of US Presidents who have ties to European Royalty are G.H.W. Bush and G.W. Bush. I don't recall any ties to Africa, Asia or Australia.

All, however, were born in North America. I use that "hedge" because Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and William Henry Harrison were born in lands that would become the United States before the USA was formed.

Presidents who have lived outside the US include both Adams, as diplomats, Thomas Jefferson, as diplomat, Harry Truman, as captain of Battery D in World War I, Dwight David Eisenhower, as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe, John F. Kennedy, serving in the Solomons as MTB commander, George Herbert Walker Bush, who lied about his age to enlist, and served as a fighter pilot in the Pacific. LBJ and Nixon were both in the Navy during the war, but I don't know if they saw any mischief.

All US presidents were born in the United States or in the American colonies prior in independence.  All are of European descendent.

Several presidents did live outside the country before they were president.  John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, and Martin van Buren were diplomats in Europe, while William Howard Taft served as governor of the Philippines (under American jurisdiction, but not part of the United States).  Several American presidents served in military operations outside the nation: Zachary Taylor, Franklin Pierce, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and George H.W. Bush, but that is not the same as residing in another nation (I rarely say that I lived in Kuwait).  Herbert Hoover also resided in Europe briefly during the First World War, while George H.W. Bush also spent fourteen months in China as a special envoy.

All Presidents are of European descent, they are all white.

Most have their roots in either England or Scotland, with a few in Ireland, and a few in The Netherlands.

-Washington, Adams--> England

-Jefferson-> Scotland

- Roosevelts-> Netherlands

-Kennedy-> Ireland

These are just some examples but most are Enlgish decendants by and far. The fact that something like 17 of the Presidents are actually related should also be a hint.

Both Adams lived abroad for pretty long stretches as dimplomats.
