Hi8mm Tape will not record full 240 mins in LP mode..?

I have purchased a 3pack of Hi8mm tapes for my camcorder...bu t it will not let me record the full 240 minutes in LP mode..

It only lets me record around 1 Hr and a half...I'd appreciate any help I can get

Never record in LP mode anyways. Try to record the best quality video possible which is always SP.

If your camcorder is a Digital8, then using Hi8 tapes will only play for half time. that is because Digital8 runs the tape at double speed for digital recording. a Hi8 120 min tape will run 1 hour at digital SP and 1.5 hour at digital LP, as you have discovered.
