Hidalgo Mexico?

Question

So for Christmas I want to get my boyfriend a really great present. He is from Hidalgo Mexico, he's a mechanic... very very manly and he never talks about wanting anything so I'm not sure what to get him. I was wondering if anybody from Hidalgo Mexico knew of something that would remind him of home (in a good way because he really misses it especially during the holidays) or if anyone had any other ideas. He needs a new wallet and I was thinking about getting him a personalized one with something about Hidalgo ingraved on it and then a picture of me in it.

Hidalgo is my favorite state. Hrm.. the only thing that stands out of that state is the Pachuca soccer team, but they have really few fans (it's common sense to know which is a mexican guy's favorite soccer team; the most popular teams are Pumas, America or Chivas). Giving him something of his soccer team will probably make him really happy.

As for typical Hidalguense food, I really can't think of anything typical of the region. The state is a bit known for it's tequila, but there really isn't food of the state that you can't find in Mexico City.

y dont u cook for him some mexican  food, i mean the typical xmas dishes, search in the web 4 recipes of romeritos or bacalao :P

u can mayb organize a posada, that is a kindda mexican party in this holidays.
