Guus Hiddink has heaped praise on his side that reached the Russian Cup final after defeating Zenit St. Petersburg and has expressed his satisfaction on decisions made by the match official
Anzhi Makhachkala managed to progress to the Russian Cup final after defeating Zenit St. Petersburg 1-0 at Petrovsky stadium on Wednesday. The hosts got the lead through Samuel Eto’o and retained the one goal cushion until the
final whistle of the enthralling encounter.
The mega-rich Dagestani club defeated Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast, FC Krylia Sovetov Samara, and Dynamo Moscow in their route to reach the final. The Makhachkala-based club will now play against CSKA Moscow in the final of the domestic
cup tournament on 1st July, 2013.
Guus Hiddink’s men were denied a chance to reach the semi-final of the domestic cup by Dynamo Moscow. The Moscow-based club eliminated the Wild-division after scoring the only goal of the cup tie in extra time.
Hiddink has lavished praise on his side that reached the final of the domestic cup tournament, saying that the Russian outfit deserved to go through in the competition after displaying quality football.

of the match.”
“I will say again, I am proud of my team, which reached the final. For us it is a great success, especially because our opponent was a team that used to play at a high level in Europe,” The Dutch tactician was quoted as saying.
