Hiddink rules out return to Stamford Bridge
Former Chelsea coach, Guus Hiddink, revealed he would not be returning to Stamford Bridge in the near future, following speculation that Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way out.
The Italian manager is having a tough time with Chelsea, who are having their worst run of form in over 15 years. The defending champions are in fourth place on the Premier League table, a possible 10 points behind league leaders Manchester United.
However, Hiddink dismissed all possibilities of him taking charge of the Blues. The Dutchman took over from Scolari during a very turbulent season because of a personal friendship with owner Roman Abramovich and won the FA Cup with the Blues, when their
season had been written off. What makes it even more spectacular is the fact that he was coaching the Russian national team during that time.
Hiddink said while speaking to reporters, “I need to make this clear, I know about the whole situation at Chelsea right now. But I am not going to come to London for a second time. We can't compare this situation and the one from last time. When I was approached
before and I did the two jobs - at Chelsea and the Russian national team - at the same time, Roman Abramovich was directly involved at top level in both organizations. This time he is not”.
Despite rumors linking him to the English Premier League, Hiddink made it clear that he intended to fully honour his commitment to the Turkish side. He said, “I know my name has also been connected with a few other clubs (in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749) but I will not move
away from my present job. I have a contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 as national coach until the summer of 2012 and I intend to fulfill that contract”.
If Ancelotti continues doing what he did during the weekend fixture against Blackburn, Abramovich will have no reason to axe the Italian manager.
Chelsea finally seemed to find their form as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786. Some of the first team players were still not up to
their best, but Ancelotti is confident they will improve.
Sampdoria interested in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 young star Patrick van Aanholt
Patrick van Aanholt, the 20 year old left back, who has been described as “an Ashley Cole in the making”, is currently being eyed by Sampdoria for a loan move.
The Dutch national has also been targeted by teams like Swansea and since he is keen for first team football, a move seems likely.
The youngster has incredible pace and possesses the ability to go forward to provide accurate crosses.
Brendan Rodgers, the former Chelsea youth and reserve coach was full of praise for the young star, saying he would be an excellent addition to any side. If he really is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 in the making then maybe the Blues should hold on to him, especially after
the recent defender crisis.
