I am getting married this spring, and I need to come up with some ways to hide some pretty massive elk head mounts on the walls. the place I am renting will not allow us to take them down, but I really want to hide them if at all possible. I had originally thought of some sort of portable wall or column type thing that would hide them.. but I really don't know where I would get one, or even seen any pictures of something similar that would work. If anybody has any pictures or ideas please let me know:) Thanks in advance!

  1. Look at it this way: The more you try to "hide" them, the more attention you might draw to them. If you ignore them and just pretend they're not there, people might not notice them. Wedding guests don't pay too much attention, if any, to the ceilings/floors/walls of the reception venue. But covering them with fabric or tulle will just make guests wonder what those big lumps on the walls are.

Make the tables look nice, to draw their attention that way. If you can dim the lights a bit, put out lots of candles. If you're afraid of the elk heads showing up in your photos, ask the photographer to Photoshop them out.

  2. Call a place that rents drapery..they can come out and set it up.  They usually have a wide variety( I don't know where you're located) it doesn't attach to the wall either.  They charge per sq foot so look at you budget and decide if it's that bad.

  3. Call a trade show decorator or exhibit house.  You can find them in the phone book, otherwise call the nearest trade show venue (convention center or arena) and ask for a reference.  They can hide all kinds of things with their display stuff.  Pipe and drape is my first thought because it's easy and fairly inexpensive, but they may have better ideas.

    Good luck!!

  4. At my sister's upcoming wedding, the reception site offers these stand alone shades to cover various areas where there is a wall sized glass windows with views into childrens' classrooms and museum exhibits that are off limits during the wedding. Basically, they are like a screen made of fabric that are connected between metal stands. Think of those romantic screens you see in movies and stuff that people change behind. You can probably do a google search or locate an event rental place like event essentials, etc. The venue my sister is using rents them for like $23 each and she is renting about two to three. Good Luck!

  5. I wouldn't try to hide them at all.  As PP mentioned, dress up your tables.
