I have DIRECTV and am about to get an HDTV. DIRECTV has seperate channels for HD and non HD. Would the HD channels automatically be able to be seen or do I have to contact them. And will the regular stations still appear better?

  1. yea,you have to call up and upgrade your service and you get a new box for HD..FOR A FEE!!!!! go to cable....its better

  2. You have to upgrade your directv reciever to an hd one and also have your dish upgraded to view the channels plus subscribe to a package that has them. You can still connect a standard reciever to an hdtv, you just won't get any hd channels
