High Noon and Funny Lari fight for total domination in the Grade OR Bedford Road Dash Dup
The Grade OR Bedford Road Dash Dup is scheduled to take place today, on 29th
March, 2012, at 20:10 GMT at Henlow. Six hounds will be competing over 277 metres for £150.
High Noon and Funny Lari will be racing as joint favourites with the odds of 9 to 4. They will be going up against Moany Tony, Blackstone Bob, Blackrose Slick and White Jura.
High Noon, son of Ballymac Maeve, out of Tahiti Pearl, raced at Henlow in his last three races, where he claimed a placed finish in each one of them.
P. Dolby, his trainer, is proud of his improving skills, hoping that he will be able to live up to the expectations today. His familiarity with this track will definitely work in his favour, a benefit that the other hounds may not have.
He succeeded over race favourite, Drovers Eclipse, by 1 length in the Grade OR March Dash on 8th March, 2012 at Henlow. He completed the 277 metre race in 16.77, where he stole the show with his stunning pace.
He finished as a runner-up in the Grade OR Stondon Dash at the same track on 15th March, 2012. He was defeated by, Lil Risky, as he fell 2 ½ lengths behind. The M. Wallis trained hound finished in 16.56 seconds, whereas High
Noon’s finishing time was 16.76 seconds.
In the next meet at Henlow, he fell short of the victory by a much narrower distance of a head. This time he lost to, Moany Tony, in the Grade OR Bookmakers Dash at the same race course on 22nd March, 2012.
Dolby will be keeping his fingers crossed, with the hope that the hound will break out of his consistency and land another victory.
The K. O’Flaherty trained, Funny Lari, lacks experience compared to the other runners, but the lightly-raced hound still shows promise. With an impressive hat-trick at Romford already in the bag, the race favourite is expected to excel today.
He competed at Henlow on 16th February, 2012, where he finished fourth in the Grade OR Bookmakers Dash Dup in 16.92 seconds, whereas the victor, Lughill Poppy, finished in 16.62 seconds.
This will be his second start at this track. The son of Droopys Scolari, out of Sky Beauty, disappointed connections with his last place finish in the Grade OR Coral Romford Sprint at Romford on 23rd March, 2012.
It is expected that High Noon will emerge victorious today. Based purely on his performances and his experience at Henlow his chances of winning are slightly higher. Funny Lari lacks experience, but he may surprise the spectators and his connections
with a finish in first place.
