So, Im going to eighth grade this year(Im 13) and from the beginning of the year they try to get you to think about what high school you'll be going too.

I have 2 choices so far(for me)

Borough- It is the school closest to me and is the top academic high school in our district

Howell- It majors in Performing arts and gives college credits, I'm pursuing performing arts professionally(currently), am still not sure I'll get in. Also I'll have to wake up super early to go there.

Which should I choose?

Yes, I know wrong section but I thought I'd get more answers.

  1. who cares! school is for weenies!

  2. Well, it sounds like Howell would be a great school for you if you wanted to get into the arts, but both schools sound really good. My advice for you is to do well in school this year and do all you can to get into Howell for next year, if you don't get in you can always fall back on Borough.

  3. I think you should go to the second school for sure, because since you are pursuing performing arts professionally.

  4. Well, at your age, not many people actually stick to what they say they are going to do. However, if you really think you're going to pursue your career in performing arts, I would think you would do well at Howell, that way you could go to school for what you like doing and get college credits done and over with. Not to mention that you will probably make friends faster because you'll have something in common with them. Wouldn't you rather wake up early and come out better in the long run, anyway?

Ultimately the choice is up to you; talk to your parents about what you want and what they think is best. And remember, the school does this so you will have time to think; they can probably answer most of the questions you have, too.

    Good luck :)

  5. Honestly, I think I would choose the Howell one. It sucks that you'll have to get up early but if it is something that you want to do anyway it shouldn't matter. Definitly also take advantage of the college credits thing. I didn't in high school and now being a college student it takes sooooo long to finish, even if you want to finish in 4 years they schools pretty much make it impossible. Either the classes fill up to fast or you can only take a certain amount of credits per semester. Either way make sure what you choose is what makes you happy. You are really luck you get to choose between two good schools.

  6. I think you should go to Howell.  Sure you have to get up early, but it's what you need to pursue your career, and it does give college credits.  Sometimes the top academics isn't always the greatest, and that's a straight A and A+ student (me) saying that!

  7. I would go to Borough, I would concentrate on my academics not my arts.

  8. I would go with Howell, because although you may have to get up early, it gives college credits which could ultimately save you time and money in the long run. But, as another answerer said, go with your gut, and, if you choose one and regret your decision, see about transferring.

  9. Go with the second because even if u have to get up early it will be worth it in the future! Try your best to get into the performing school if that is what you are aiming for in the future! Good Luck!

  10. Personally the Howell sounds like the better choice. YOu get college credit and it is what you are presuing in life so it just make more sense. As for the getting up earlier thats no biggie if you actually go to bed!

  11. Ultimately you will have to decide which school you will get the most out of! Just follow your gut instinct!

  12. Howell. It's seems like it would be much more beneficial for you.
