High School Classes??

Ok, so I'm going to be a freshman in high school, and it's really important to me to get into a good college and start a good career. I just want to know if colleges look at the electives (the extra classes you can choose like marketing, journalism, etc.) you take in high school seriously. Do I have to choose electives that are related to my major in college, or is it ok to do different things?

Thank you so much!
