High School Education?

Question

What is the difference between boarding school education and regular high school education? Do they have the same extracurricular activities as high schools? Generally, how is a boarding school's population? Is boarding school life similiar to college life? Furthermore, do they go to 6-8 period timetable like regular high school students or it is more of a college environment where you have 3-5 classes a week for about 2hours a day including a lecture? Thanks.
