I need some ideas for funny and easy movies to film and write. So far we have a cynical nun that is pretty comedic. Just like a theme would be nice, thank you very much!

  1. Different kinds of humor - situational, which seems to be what you want; puns and other plays on words; body humor (slapstick, pantomime).  British humor tends to be from both ends - slapstick and word play.  Why not try some improv.  Pick out a character to play, something you have seen, characteristics that don't quite connect the way you would normally expect, and play it for all that it is worth.  If you learn to play off of each other, you can pick up "bits" from your improvs and rehearse them into skits, then shift them once again into scenes that will film well.

Think of someone who makes you chew your cheeks trying not to laugh and be rude or caught out.  Then play that character for all that you are worth - BUT - also make the character likable.  You will have your audience squirming as much as you were on trying to get into character in the first place.  (But you cannot laugh at yourself.  You have to believe in the character and

    BE that character.)
