Question:

High School! Help!!?

I just started school today and went to all my classes. It turns out that I have some pretty good classes... And then came science. To start it out, I arrived into class late and then when I got in I realized that I had no friends in the class. Not only that, after we started getting into the class she told us to pair up and there I was...the loner of the class. Do you guys have any tips on how I could survive this semester or how I could make some friends? I'd really appreciate it.

  1. Just talk to people in that class, or don't and just be the loner. You're kinda whiny, oh no you don't have friends in ONE class... no one really cares. Just be friendly, always bring extra pencils to hand out, and don't worry about. Even if you don't make friends in that class, at least you aren't being bullied or anything.

  2. talk to people?

  3. be more sociable, maybe if you make some friends in your other classes they might be in your science class and be your partners sometimes?

  4. Talk to people, find out their interests and stuff like that, it's really quite easy to talk to people when you know a bit more about them. But don't worry too much, it's only one class! Good luck!

  5. maybe some friends of your friends are in your class or you can make friends by asking if they understood the chapter..like someone sitting near you, or as you leave class, and I'm sure they would like to be your friend :)

  6. Just be yourself talk to people start a conversation ask for help and continue to talk. Or keep being a umm.. (loner sorry) and eventually someone will talk to u

  7. Communication is the key.

  8. I'd say talk to people. Try and find a common interest. And make your teacher like you. Ask him/her how their weekend was, what they like to do for fun, and of course when you ever start to struggle....ask to speak to them! They want to help you succeed.

  9. I realize having friends in a class with you is fun and comforting. But high school is a time to start growing up too. Having one or two classes without friends isn't the end of the world. You have to start learning to work with others you don't know. Just as you are going to have to do in college and at work. Who knows a lab partner may turn into a friend. Just being in a class and working with others can start up a friendships. My daughter gained friends from being in study groups, started from students who were just in the same hard class together.
