Depends on your classes, I had a 7 or 8 pocket plastic expanding folder thing for my papers, or you can 3 ring punch everything and put it in a binder/trapper with dividers and a portable snap in hole punch, I had a special one just for math too because I had so many papers. Then loose leaf paper/notebooks (BIG MULTI SUBJECT NOTEBOOKS are best.) Then you want a pencil pouch, I don't suggest a plastic box unless its the kind with a zipper arround it I dropped mine outta my locker constantly. Stretchy cloth book covers in many colors- get mostly jumbo ones they fit alot better on normal textbooks. Writing supplies/pens pencils. I mostly wrote a list of what my specific teachers asked for beyond that and picked it up the weekend after my first week of school.

Oh and don't forget some kind of bag to carry your stuff in.

Our school provided locks to use for the year and return when you were done, and assignment books to write all your assignments in.
