High School Tennis?

Okay so I haven't done tennis in 3 years and it never really was my main sport but I think it would be fun to do it. Next year I'm a freshman and I want to take it. There is also a camp over the summer, so is it worth it for me to go through camp and actually try out for the tennis team, or would it be too hardcore? I'm asking those of you with experience. thanks :] .

  1. I think it would be great to go through tennis camp, but maybe you need to start playing some tennis for a month or two before jumping into tennis camp.  Maybe you can get some friends or family (with some experience) to hit with you a few times a week.  Then, when you can rally a bit, go for the camp!  Sounds like fun.  Good luck!

  2. I say go for it.  Do the camp and try out for the tennis team. Tennis is a great sport.  I am going to be a freshmen next year too.  And I am going to try out. Go for it.

  3. Definitely do it. My brother has only been playing tennis for a bit over a year and he's a junior. He was great this year and next year (senior year), he's probably gonna be ranked second because he has gotten that good so quickly. My brother also convinced me to join tennis this year (freshman) very late and I joined so late I wasn't ranked and put at the bottom. I was actually really good this year but because I had no rank, I never got to play against other school. Next year (sophomore), I might be ranked #1 because I've also gotten that good and I even have a shot at varsity. But, I'm gonna stick to fresh/soph because I probably wouldn't get to play much on varsity.

So yeah, it's best for you to join and be serious about it. You can get really good and it's best to get the most experience as possible, so don't rush yourself. Good luck.

Oh, and never before the first time I went to tennis this year had I even picked up a tennis racket! lol

Even I was amazed at how good I got lol

  4. Well the advantage of going to the camp is making yourself  busy and you can play pretty much everyday but generally the training and exercises is hard. I think you should go.

  5. I think it's a great opportunity for you to join. I'm going to be in Tennis next year [freshman, i've been in tennis 4 years], and the coach said we need to start getting into shape, by running, and doing good excersize. As long as you practice running and excersizing, you will be in good shape to play tennis next year.

    Hope this helps. :]

  6. do it! im a freshman ( almost sophmore can't wait)

and season is already over =(

our school can't really afford tennis camp(lucky you)

but i say u should go...i didn't have any experiencce and just showed up 2 practice and was immidiatley on jv

so i say do it !
