Question:

High School Transfer, College Admission

I transferred high schools due to family issues. In my previous high school I got higher grades in my first half of the year compared to my second half of the year. During the year I transferred, I took the same classes. When applying to colleges, which grade will be used as the admission criteria? For instance, I had an A- in my math course at my old school and at my new school where I take the same math course I received an B . Will the higher grade be seen as the grade passing grade?

  1. Why did you take the same classes at both high schools? I think a college recruiter would ask why you repeated the courses when you did well at your old school.

My guess is they would take the better grade,it wouldn't hurt if you would request in writing for them to take the better grades.
