I am going to a big high school where there are two campuses and the 9/10 graders are together and the 11/12 graders are together. I'm a freshman and all of my friends are going to different schools. I know some people from other places and some of them I met from friends but I haven't seen them for a long time. I don't know whether I should just go up to them when there talking with their clique or if I should mind my own business. I am soo nervous.....what should I do?

  1. Mind your own business. And be friendly. Dont try to suck up to older students. Be yourself.

  2. get involved in activities and you'll meet upperclassmen and your own classmates. you'll make friends, and don't sweat it, everyone is nervous on their first day of high school.

  3. Go for it! If you see someone familiar, buddy up with them. It won't hurt, right? Either way, it's a big school, you'll make friends for sure :D

  4. just be friendly to everyone lol

but yes if you do know ppl even if distantly go up and talk to them, your all in the same boat if your going into gr. 9. if they are smart they will just go along with it. who knows you could become really close with them.

dont be nervouse everyone has to go along with it at one time or another just have fun :)

  5. 1. High school years go by very quickly.  Realize that, everything that seems oh-so important now will be laughable and irrelevant by the time you graduate.

    2. Don't ever hide your true self to please anyone.  If everyone loves the Jonas Brothers (eww) and you love, I dunno, Clay Aiken or whatever, say that.  Don't lie to fit in.

    3. Your school work will trump all high school drama.  It's okay to be social, but focus on your work. Being the Most Popular isn't going to do you any good when you're filling out a college application.

    4. Don't be intimidated by anyone because of how they dress, who they hang out with, or how they look.  No one is better than you, so you shouldn't be afraid to go up to someone and talk to them.

    5. If you see someone sitting alone in the lunchroom, invite them to your table.  It's called "high school karma", and you'll be rewarded for it some how.

    6. Be respectful to the faculty and teachers, but don't allow anyone to disrespect you in any way.

    7. If the teacher is wrong about something, point it out.  Don't allow some moron to teach you the wrong things.

    8. Get organized: Buy a planner, keep your locker neat, etc.

    9. Before jumping into friendships, be observant.  Watch people and how they interact with others.  Use your intuition.  If someone seems a bit off or untrustworthy, then they're not worth your time.

    10. Don't spread rumors, and if you hear a rumor that you know to be untrue, speak out on it (again, it's high school karma; do it for someone and they'll do it for you)

That's all I have for now, feel free to write me if anything!
