I'm more excited then anything but my high school is HUGE. It's new too, so neither of my brothers went to this new school. Sure I have them to ask questions to, but I'm not completely comfortable asking all the questions about how to be really social and stuff..

help me out please?

  1. I hope this is the answer you are looking for, because I wasn't too sure what you were asking about so I broke the answer into two parts.

Ask anyone at the school about the things you need to know (like where classes are, the schedule and whatnot).  More than likely they will be really helpful if you are polite because they are feeling the same way you are (Nervous and excited) about the new school year.  If you get stuck on where to go, ask a student, teacher or even go to the office to get directions.  Teachers usually give you some leeway the first week of school on tardiness due to students getting a feel for the school.

The only advice I could give is for you to be yourself.  Alot of High Schooler's believe they need to wear the right clothes, like the same kind of things to fit in.  Trying to be popular for that reason is really shallow.   I changed schools twice during high school and I was much happier being myself than trying to fit in.  I also treated people with respect and kindness.  Good luck to you.

  2. Starting High School can be as fun or bad as you make it! Here is a list of tips from a 25 year old female and a now middle school teacher....

Leave your Middle School behavior in Middle School

Don't feel like you have to impress everyone, if they like you they do and if not...oh well!

Dress neatly, you don't have to have the latest clothes or follow the latest trends but look neat and put together

Don't attempt to be older...it will be obvious that you are not!

Being the smart kid IS ok

Get involved in as many activities as you ca without overwhelming yourself(play a sport, join a club or 2) One of the best one's is Student Council/Government

You don't have to suck up to teachers, do what you are supposed to do and they will like you!

Stay away from cliques that start trouble...regardless if you started it or not, when the going gets tough you will be included in all of the mess!

    Choose friends that respect theirselves

You are probably laughing because these all seem like things that come from a parent(which I am not) but they are all things I did in high school and because of it I have lifelong relationships/friendships and I made a GOOD name for myself!
