I am a 9th grade graduate, and now I will move to a foreign country for one or two years.(That means I'll be technically homeschooled) But I plan to go to one of the top 100 universities.

so:

1.What is the differance between ACT and SAT?

2.Best recommended textbooks for each subject?

3.Are there any ways to know how high I need to score in either SAT or ACT to get in my goal university?

  1. Good luck with everything!!!

  2. I'm going to be a Senior next year in the U.S. so...

    1.  The SAT is required to get into college, ACT not so much.  The SAT is scored out of 2400, ACT out of 34 or something like that...I haven't and I'm going to take the ACT but for the SAT I suggest you get the Cliffs SAT Study Guide.  It's huge and START now practicing it.  I mean, I'm in the top ten of my class and I think I only got a 1600/2400 on the SAT...I started studying 2 months before the test!  Oh, and you can take the SAT as much as you want, it costs like $50 each time but try hard.

http://www.collegeboard.com  <--go to this for information on all colleges and what SAT score you need around (at least a 2000 I would guess)

    2.  It varies on the level.  However, McDougal-Littel is a good brand for math (I'm going into AP Calculus next year).  For English there are many good brands.  History, I had a book called America, very good.  For Biology get Reese and Campbell.

I hope I've helped.  I've been through all of this college stuff so I know quite a lot:-)

My suggestion for u for ur home-schooling

    Grade 10

    Geometry/Algebra II

    Biology I

    Some history of your choosing

    Some type of literature

    A foreign language

    Another subject of your choosing

    Grade 11

    AP Biology II

    Pre-Calculus/Alg. II

    Anatomy

    Chemistry

Actually, that won't work because you need to choose subjects that pertain to your future career!!!!

oh, and DO  EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIESS...if you don't you WILL NOT be accepted to Harvard, Brown, Oxford etc.  Do as much as possible!!!
