getting better reception with a $3, 75 ohm antenna unamplified; in fact i have a $5 75 - 300 piece to make it work with the television. works like a charm getting stations i never could get with that amplified antenna i want my $50 back!

another thing, how many of us are really going to buy those converter boxes, lol. i got 2 coupons but i don't know because the television hasn't seen any action whatsoever now they i have my lcd. you know you want that cheap analog in case someone comes to visit, but there's no real initiative to get one, other than analog tvs are still like $20 at the pawn shop.

  1. I'm glad to hear your report.  Many times, the amplified antennas do more harm than good, they can actually limit bandwidth and amplify noise, both of which can actually cause reception problems.  I've gotten thumbs down many times for telling people the good old fashioned TV antennas we've been using for years are still viable choices.

I'm glad to hear you have an LCD HD set.  There is still a good percentage of Americans that still get their TV via an antenna and still wish to use their old analog sets.  The converter boxes are good choices for them.

I'm glad to hear things are working out for you!
