Question:

High mounted stop light?

I was driving behind my girlfriends moms car one night and noticed that her high mounted stop light was on the whole time. At first I figured since she is a crappy driver that she had her foot on the brake and the gas at the same time. Then i checked it out myself and found that it is always on when the headlights are turned on. I was wondering why the light is always on because it looks like the car is braking the whole time. Its a POS 1999 ls200 saturn. How is this problem fixed and what caused this?

  1. Could be a problem with the brake light switch(sensor).  Pretty common problem for a car that age.  Just ask stop by your local auto parts store and they can fill you in and get your problem taken care of.  It is nothing major, but is nnoying if ou are behind one like that.  HAHA
