Question:

High note troubles :/?

when i sing and i try to hit a high note (sometimes it isn't that high) my voice squeaks or something lol like my voice cracks. how can i prevent that?

  1. depending on your age you may still be developing (i apologise if you aren't) and this can mess with your voice because of hormones and all that rubbish

    otherwise it's due to your diaphragm control

    i would recommend a few singing lessons for breathing exercises so you learn where your diaphragm is and how to use it to full affect. There are robably videos on youtube and stuff, but the dagphragm really is the key to belting out those top notes, not your throat

    (i'm really sorry if this is patronising)

    a handy exercise is finding your lowest note and just going up as high as you can in a slow, police-siren-like noise. You do end up sounding like a moose at times, standing there just wailing, but you find your high and low notes and learn how your own voice copes with each note

  2. Try doing some exercises, using the scale. Go from bass to middle C to treble. Before you do this, take a deep breath so it can release while you're doing this. I've taken church choir (but very grudgingly, I'm more of a jock) and I've had some experience, and a not so bad singing voice...
