Does anyone know if having potassium levels that are too high can cause any psychological problems such as stress, depression, etc.? What are the other symptoms it could cause?

  1. Yes. High potassium (hyperkalemia) can cause a range of symptoms same as low potassium (hypokalemia). And either can be fatal if left unchecked.

It would be best to have your doctor find out why your potassium is high. My brother had low potassium with severe drops from time to time. After he passed away last April we found out he had a genetic disorder known as "familial periodical paralysis syndrome" which causes either extremely high or low potassium with a barrage of other symptoms.
