High school: A subject for Science Research Project (Science in the home)?

I just need an idea to get started on. The topic is 'Science in the Home' and the subject has to be closely related to it or else marks will be taken off, and I need to be able to perform more than one experiment (i.e. on the same subject) and my research+experiments will probably need to be at least 5 pages (including graphs). It is due in 3 or 4 weeks.

You can try your own consumer product trials such as

purchase several cleaners that claim to remove mildew, but do they?!  Mark off several sections in the shower and clean each with a different cleaner for a week or two.  Discuss results.

There are a lot of cooking-related projects to try.  Eggs...why can you beat them into meringue?  What affects the results?  Since you need more than one experiment, you could work with a few different types of leavening agents (baking soda, yeast, etc.) and talk about how they work.
