  1. A coaching resume is going to make an attempt to highlight your coaching experience. If you told them you worked as a Baristo for 5 years, do you really think that they could use it? Remember to spell "coaching" right when you write it.

  2. Cool.  If your going to be a head coach make sure

That you understand how to play Volleyball and also how to Get your Girls to College.  When you coach for Volleyball in HS not only do you need to know the scouts but you need to have your team understand volleyball.  I have played volleyball for 20 years.  Have won 2 all american libero awards and have won a bunch of AAA sand and AA sand Tourny's and Ive just finally in the last couple of years understood volleyball where I can teach it to someone else.  Make sure you have a couple of years Assistant coaching under some good coaches before you take the next step up

  3. It's similar to your other resume but you must "massage" it to highlight your coaching experience and sporting career in general.

For example, if applying for an office job, you may well simply mention Volleyball and coaching under "other interests" to show you were a well rounded person. However, when going for the coaching job, these interests will take pride of place along with your academic qualifications.

When mentioning your career history, even if you were not doing coaching at some time then mention it to show your were keeping up an interest.

Example: 2002-2004 I worked in banking administration with ABC Bank, and gained experience in management of junior staff and basic bookkeeping as well as computer systems. During this time I kept up my coaching experience supplementing my income working with the Chicago Cougars U15 squad in the evenings.

Notice you mention skills acquired which could be useful as a coach: management, computer skills etc. And of course you will make a big deal of any coaching or reffing qualifications plus any sporting honours or teams played for, These things would not normally be of great interest but you will push them forward.

Lastly use a spell checker and be very grammatically correct. Even get someone to help you with the layout if you are not sure.

    Good luck with the job!
