I am going into grade 11 and I am going to start being home schooled for my last 2 years. Would I still be accepted to a college to become a registered nurse?

Also if you know this please answer. How much does a registered nurse make in Canada. And how long do I have to go to college for?

  1. Don't worry, being homeschooled will in no way hinder your acceptance into colleges. Just make sure you stay active and do some out of school activities and pay attention to your PSATs and SATs. I actually have a friend that was homeschooled and now he's a sophomore in MIT's engineering program....=P Don't worry too mcuh...xDD

As for RNs...I'm not too sure as I live in the US...X______X;;; But in the US the best idea is probably a bachelors degree, which will take 4 years in a normal university to complete. If you only want an associates degree it'll take prolly 2 years in a community college.

In the US, RNs can general earn from 40000 to 85000, but most earn around the 60000 area....Again, not to sure for Canada...SORRY..>< Wish I could help more.

Good luck in Junior year tho!

  2. Absolutely, but you must make sure that your parents register you through the state as being home schooled.  BTW, you can actually get college credit NOW, while your parents are homeschooling you.  It is called concurrent enrollment, and you need to check into it with the local college counselor.
