  1. Baseball tryouts next weekend and you want to get in shape...You should have started 30 days ago.  However, Do alot of streching, and some slow running.  If you can do some swiming to get your long muscles streched out.  Do some short tossing.  Try to get limber and loose so you don't pull a muscle.  Do not go crazy and workout like a madman, you will be so stiff and sore that you will look awkward.

Good luck, and next year start early with some running and hit the weight room.  Swing the bat some and get to a batting cage.

I'm glad you are going out for the team.  Learn the game.

  2. I know that I would have not appreciated this comment when I was a freshmen in high school but it is just your freshmen year. Focus on just improving your game this year and do not worry too much about in game performance right off the bat. You want to be the guy that was alright at the beginning of the year, but really worked hard and became awesome at the end of the season.

Flexibility, mechanics, and a wood bat will get you on your way to becoming a better hitter. Now before you look away from this let me explain. I can bet good money that you are not as flexible as a gymnast so until you are you have not done your job on making yourself flexible, which will make it easier for your body to move when you hit the ball and run the bases.

Now for mechanics, you have to video tape your hitting mechanics and learn where you are making errors in the hitting motion. Watch video of how Major League ballplayers hit the ball (go to www.mlb.com or www.youtube.com or google search "MLB First Year Player Draft") and take the quality basics of their mechanics in the videos and apply it to how you hit the baseball. Good luck with the training! Feel free to email me if you have any questions at theprospect09@gmail.com. Look forward to talking with you.

  3. I went through this exact same thing last year, so you're not the only one.  About the first 2 weeks before I had my tryouts every day i went to the batting cages to work on my stroke.  It was what i needed the most improvement on.  Then after my tryouts, it turned out I made Varsity my Freshman year, mostly because of my hitting.  I would advise you not to work out with weights, because you'd be sore for tryouts, which would suck, haha.  Just work all the kinks out of your game, and gets enough sleep each night.

Good Luck.  Let me know how it goes.

  4. you should start doin somethin now you dont wanna start the year with nothin in the tank i'm sure most of your teammates played all summer and are in mid season for. so u got 2 step up or you mite get cut

  5. Do all 3 and good luck

  6. go for a run you don't want to be sore during tryouts and if you can go to some batting cages the best tip i can give is go for a run and stretch your muscles get them ready for tryouts

  7. High School baseball tryouts in August?  Shouldn't they be in like February or something?

  8. practice and workout untill the day or two before you should rest but no be entirely unactive

  9. The best thing you can do to make the team is to hit the batting cage. The coaches will be looking for people that can make contact with the ball consistently. Don't overlook the little things like bunting either. If you are an infielder, have someone hit grounders to you. If you are an outfielder, have someone hit you fly balls. Make sure to get outside and warm your arm up as well. You will want to have a loose arm for tryouts but don't throw too much. Also hustle on each play because chances are you will only get a few plays in during the tryouts. Great hustle will get you noticed and give you greater odds of making the team.

  10. well you gotta make sure your in shape......... and you should work out a little...... dont wanna get a sore arm or get hurt your arm, and practice to which ever position your trying out for....... i did this my freshman year im a junior and im tryout for varsity in january.........

    goodluck.

and heres a little tip ''worry about yourself, dont worry about other people making mistakes.....
