High school clothes??

Question

I'm moving to America from England on the 10th and my Dad has given me money to buy clothes..

just wondering are you allowed to wear vest in high school and 3/4 lenghts coz i need to know what i'm allowed to wear so i don't buy all these clothes and not be allowed to wear them..

If you're going to a public school, you probably don't have a uniform. And besides, uniforms take away individuality! If you don't have a uniform, then vest and 3/4 lengths are allowed. And also remember what part of the country you're moving to. The weather here is messed up. Make sure they don't have anything bad on them, like stuff suggesting drug or alcohol usage, or stuff in and around the "bad" category. Don't wear your shorts too short, and don't show off too much skin. Super low cut shirt is a big no-no, but don't wear like a sweatshirt and jeans everyday. If your shopping here, go to Hollister, American Eagle, Abercrombie (or Abercrombie and Fitch, depending on size), and Aeropostale. With Aeropostale, don't buy the stuff with the animals on it if intended for school use. Stick to the front of the store for Aero. And don't worry, if you're from England, everyone will think that is so cool. My mom's from the Philippines, but I'm only half. People think you're cool if you're from somewhere else, especially if they don't get a lot of people like us where they live. Hope this helps, and welcome to America!

P.S: If you're coming to New York or somewhere bordering that to the north, you're going to want a really good winter coat and some gloves, because it's going to feel like the Artic with the below zero temperatures we sometimes get. Brrrr!

Firstly, check that you don't have a uniform in your school because tons of them do over here. If they don't then ask the school what is appropriate and follow there guidelines. You can wear anything that isn't classed as 'Vulgar or offencsive' have fun x
