I plan on trying out for field hockey in the fall. How can I prepare myself? What can I do during tryouts that will help me make a good impression. I really want to make this team, so any tips that you can give me would be great! :)

  1. get yourself into a semi hockey club which will give you good preperation and just do some fitness training so you have good stamina.

  2. Congratulations, you are trying out for one tough sport.I play too. i am trying out for my high school's varsity team this year, and i too want to make a good impression. This is what i would suggest for my team, and is what i am doing:

-Know the sport. Don't expect to be taught everything. do some research on the rules and regulations. The skills will come from the coaches, but you should be comfortable with at least hitting the ball on your own.

-Have all of your equipment and medical forms for the FIRST day. Being unable to play the first day will not be a good way to show your coach who you are.

-Be LOUD when doing drills, it shows confidence.

-Congratulate your team mates. This extra friendliness will show the coach that you are a team player.

Good luck, and let me know how you do!

  3. be in shape and remember to have fun and be confident and just do the best you can. Also try to make yourself noticed. If there are alot of girls it may be hard for the coach to remember you.

  4. Just run as much as you can!
