k my tryouts in about a week and i am 5"8-5"9ish (dont know exact height) and around 160-165 lbs... my friends tell me that i will probably make it to JV but i havent played football in half a year... and i started working out and tryin to get into shape about 2 weeks ago but i dont think its enough for the tryouts so i wanted to know any football drill practices WITHOUT any cones or any stuff like that... and i wanted to know if i would be able to go to WR position at my height i have decent speed and i can catch well and i am pretty good at breaking/juking tackles... if i cant go WR at my height, tell me some positions that i might fit into,

i can bench around 120-130lbs, and i am not sure about my 40yard dash cuz ive never done it...

thx for ur help

  1. Your are sweating this too much. Your height is ok but don't expect miracles to happen, does your school not have Freshmen teams? Just stick with that, skipping to JV right away will mess you up. First year is supposed to be laying down basics.

Drills not so much. Try more like doing 10 yard sprints, do 100 of them, try running the 40, time yourself, and try to get better. Also, I'm a lineman but I run up a hill nearby, chopping your feet and keeping a wide base. Try routes...

Just go out and have a good time, good luck!

  2. Try running into a wall, then you realize that it hurts getting tackled so try to dodge tackles instead... :L

  3. yea ull be fine at WR/ Saftey

  4. Wr sounds good at your heigh and weight and also try kick/punt return

  5. hey, mark claytons about your height, hes in the NFL. As for the drills? sorry buddy, most drills require equipment.

  6. Dont worry bout it.
