High school newspaper help?

I have an assignment due and i just need 3 ideas to make my newspaper better. and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What does your school paper already do?  What's included in it?

Some suggestions:

*Come up with a weekly (bi-weekly/monthly or whenever the paper is circulated) topic or question and interview or quote different types of students on the subject.

*Put a leaflet in the paper that students can fill out suggesting topics they'd like an article written on.

*Try the leaflet idea again, but encourage students to vote on or suggest what THEY think is missing from the paper.

*Every so often, honor and interview a student that has achieved something good in school or in the community.  Or do an interview with any students that play in a band of their own, etc.
