i am a kind of person that is TERRIFIED of failure. so im really bad at races with obstacles and such.

do they have alot of that in high schools generally?

(and im also really afraid of dissapointing team mates. so i need help with that too)

  1. Don't worry about it. You will be fine!! PE isn't that bad as long you are actively involved and try at least a little. I suggest giving it your all. You will be fine!! Good Luck

  2. no its not as bad as people think just chill out high school is mad fun

  3. Hey, I was in EXACTLY the same situation as you. I don't know where you live, but unfortunately here in Australia it is mandatory; you will fail if you don't do it.

Just relax though, people don't care if you don't do well. People care a lot less than you think. They're probably too busy concentrating on their task at hand to care about what you're doing anyway, and you sound like you're all right at sports so what are you worrying about? Just do it, it gets easier over time when you realise no one gives a stuff.

  4. in high school gym their aren't usually races and even if there are nobody really cares if you win or lose, don't put too much thought into it

  5. when i went through PE there weren't hardly any races at all.  If there was we were just messing around or something.  Most of the time we ran, learned the history about a sport, then played a sport.  It is the most useless class ever unless you have a good teacher, which i didn't.

  6. well wen i was in high school we never had to do anything really competing and what not. the P.E teacher would just tell us to play a game or something. could be that he was a cool teacher or the school rules, but i don't think you should worry about it because everyone else in your class will be new to it also

  7. in my school all we had to do was a beep test (incase you dont have that its were you run from one line to another for aslong as you can)

it was really boring but my class are a great bunch so no one cared if you did c**p.

    we never had to race.

    just relax, and have fun.

i look forward to PE cos for both years both my teachers have been really cool so far and we just play games

  8. trust me you'll get over it, pe is actually fun! i missed it my last years of HS.

  9. No, there we no races in High School for me, except once a year the fitness tests - they made us run in circle and timed us.

There was golf, archery, basket ball, soccer, foot ball, but just like 3 people per team, and the weight room. And 'golf' with these silly little pieces of indoor-outdoor carpeting. And badminton.

  10. it's actually pretty fun, you just have to relax and enjoy what you're doing.

and when you fail, remember that there are somethings you are good at, and some you'll not very good with.

your teammates would just cheer you on when you do something wrong, they wouldn't blame you for it.

  11. chill out...

when i went into high school i was scared that we would have to climb ropes and c**p like that, but you dont at all.

Our coaches didnt even make us run, when they said to run.

PE is actually one of the easiest and most fun periods to have,if you have friends with you.

But just dont worry, its no big deal at all.

Just dress out,and you get your grade.

    Its as simple as that.

  12. take p.e online .. ?

  13. If your class if like ours then you wills be so bored. Last year, we just sat on the benches for 20 minutes then ran the mile. For the rest o the class we just socialized. Your school most likely offered summer gym for those who don't want to take it during the school year (as I did).

  14. where i am from you get to pick for what you want in P.E. but dance is a must

  15. Didn't u take it before in like jr high? Some schools have a lot of individual activities in gym, like our school emphasizes activities you can do alone for all your life and still have fun. Like playing golf and walking and using exercise tapes and machines. We do a lot as a group but its mostly about your individual progresses. And don't worry its only a game so what if you wind up being bad at frisbee?

  16. You know what, you got to stop caring about failing. Everybody fails at some point, that is life. And about disappointing team mates, don't worry about it. Many people have and will s***w up eventually, and sure there will be the those who are mean and say c**p, but don't worry about them. As for races and obstacles and such, all that depends on the school. Each school has their own way of doing P.E., but are similar to other schools.

We have a similar situation, I am not athletic at all, and I hate P.E, and I will certainly fail and disappoint my teammates. Sure I guess I care a little, but I know I did my best and there isn't much to do but just go and do it. I already have one year done, I'm a sophomore, and I plan on doing P.E. during the summer, which is like 5 weeks for full 10 credits. Do that, if they offer P.E. during the summer, that way you can get it over with. But You will have to wait till next summer, because I think most schools require freshman to take it freshman year, and soph-senior need to take it eventually.

Good luck, and don't worrying. Everything will be fine. P.E is there to keep everyone healthy, so it is there for a purpose. even if we don't like it.
