  1. If you can get your schedule and go to the school ahead of time, you can try to locate your classes.  This can make walking around school less scary.

Talk to older people (even parents) that have been through it.  They are your best resources.  Good luck!

  2. aww the freshman!

    first calm the h e l l down.

its really not that serious i promise you this.

nobody is really going to waste there time abusing you.

get into as much activity as you can but stay focus, freshman

    years is important.

it really is the best years but not for everyone i will say.

but dont stress it,or you'll get wrinkles dear !

  3. i was freaked out too... honestly its scary the first couple of days, trying to find your classes. but as long as you have a group of friends you can hang out with and compare schedules with you'll be fine. Just take it one day at a time and try not to stress.. good luck!

  4. omg me too!  lol but i started two days ago! and its awesome. but i have to tell you gym sucks big time lol. its not as bad as the movies make it out to be. it might be different were you go to but at my highschool freshmens have there own acdamy. so we only see the older kids in lunch and in our electives and clubs. but just be yourself and smile and look nice lol. im very shy so i knw how ya feel. they like it when your oragnzied and you better be on time with a pencil and all your stuff. most teachers dnt like pencils you have to sharpen so i would get the ones that you stick lead in. but just have fun and be yourself and you should find friends by the second day. dont be bummed if you dont make a friend on the frist day of school cuz i didnt lol! so i hope this helps and if you need any more tips you can email me at ctluvr182@yahoo.com. good luck and i hope you have a great frist day of highschool i knw you will!

  5. I must admit that the thought of high school can be very scary. but it is still just school. The idea of changing classes after every period will become routine after about a week and its a good way to meet lots of different people. Try and look at it in a different light, be positive and confident as you walk into each class and you will be just fine. Also scout out a place for you and your friends to meet at for lunch, that way you won't be walking around aimlessly looking for them.lol, that happened to me first day.

  6. Why ask for advice and at the same time refuse the wisdom you're most likely to receive? (best years of your life and all that.) I mean, we've been through it. Why would we lie to you? To be honest, the "best years of your life" bit is sometimes true, and sometimes not. It depends on what kind of person you are. For some people, high school is pretty terrible and they don't come into their own until college or after. For others, high school years are the glory days. It depends on what you make of it.

Here are some important things to remember:

1)Everyone else, like you, is concerned about themselves, their image. When you have to go to school and your skin is broken out or you're having a bad hair day, you feel like everyone is paying attention. But in reality, nobody really cares. Everyone is thinking about their own problems. So be confident no matter what kind of day you think you're having, because if you try to hide you'll just draw attention to the flaws you're self-conscious about.

    2) Be involved. There are lots of things to do in most high schools these days, whether it's sports or clubs or whatever. Throughout high school and throughout the rest of your life, these extra-curricular activities will be a key source of many of your friendships. It also makes you (and makes you appear to be) a more well-rounded and interesting person. When you start getting summer jobs you can put on your resume that you play basketball at school, or whatever. This shows your commitment to something, and is good.

    3) As far as academics go, school is really not that hard. It comes down to being able to apply yourself. Be willing to read things, figure stuff out, and you can get awesome grades. Never be afraid to ask for help from teachers or even other students. Neither of them will ever look down on you for asking. Getting help when you need it is a sign of maturity and intelligence; not stupidity or anything else.

Overall, it can be a great experience if you get up every day and try to make the most of it. If you go in expecting the worst, you may get the worst. That's just how it goes.

    Good luck, and have fun.

  7. im gonna be a freshman to

    just dont worry about it

just stick with your friends and as the year goes on you will make more and more friends

    go in with confidence:)

  8. As scary as it seems at first, high school isn't a whole lot different than middle school. You have a bit more freedom, although they do tend to limit it freshman and sophmore years. I'm going to be a senior this year so I've had my share of high school experiences. Not to be corny or cliché but they really are some of the best in my life. Think back to when you were moving into your middle school? Weren't you scared then? It's really no different except for now you're discovering more and more about who you really are as a person, your real friends and what you really like to do. High school is a great time for self discovery and having fun, so just try to relax and go with the flow. : )

  9. I was thrilled going into high school and i ended up loving it too. Youll get to meet a bunch of new people. If youre scared of getting lost in a big building, dont even worry about it. Buildings really arent as confusing as you might think, and 25% of your school will also be freshmen, youre all in the same boat.

  10. trust me I was just as freaked out when I first started! and even if you don't believe it , it really IS the BEST years of your life and you will make soo many new friends so rather than being all stressed about it just look forward to it!!:]

  11. im in the same boat.

im so nervous to. but i am excited.

    so remember your not alone.

  12. I am going to be a freshmen also

your not a baby because your nervous, everyone goes into their first day of high school feeling scared.  High schools understand that new classmen coming in are nervous which is why almost every high school has freshmen day. When my cousin was a freshmen last year that she was broken into a small group and they went around the circle telling something about them self's so she said it made her feel a lot less nervous about being around 400 other freshmen.

once you get going trough your first couple of weeks you will probably settle in and get used to it and start making friends =) just be nice to everyone! And try to make the best of it also high school is 4 years out of your life and it goes by faster then you think!

    Good Luck!
