    Tech Drawing 1 and 2

    Painting

  5. I am a Sophomore (10th grade) at a public high school.

First off, let me explain what the abbreviation A.P. stands for.

AP means 'Advanced Placement'. It is equivalant to a Freshman course in college. The work/homework is very rigorous. At the end of the year you are required to take the AP test. If you recieve a certain mark on the test, you do not have to take that class in college.

    My schedule:

    AP Physics

    Spanish 2

    Pre-Calculus

    English 10 Honors

    Advanced Honors Orchestra

    AP US History

At most public schools this is how it goes:

    Science:

    Evironmental Science- Freshman

    Biology- Sophomore

    Chemistry- Junior

    Physics- Senior

You can take those classes as: Regular, Honors, or AP. Regular being the easiest and AP being the hardest. For example, Junior year you could take Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, or AP Chemistry. To be in an honors/AP class you have to have fulfilled the pre-requisites.

I took Honors Biology as a Freshman and my school allowed me to skip Honors Chemistry. Next year I will take AP Chemistry, and Senior year I will either take AP Biology or go to a university to take university Physics or something.

    Math goes:

    Algebra 1- Freshman

    Geometry- Sophomores

    Algebra 2- Juniors

    Pre-Calculus- Seniors

Students that are ahead in math, like you, can take AP Calculus AB or BC their Senior year. I'm in Pre-Calculus as a Sophomore, so senior year I have to go to a university.

The other stuff is pretty general.

I hope you have a great year. Good luck.
