Question:

High school sports!!! please answer?

i am trying out for my high school crew team.

i am going into my freshman year.

i heard that last year, they took everyone who tried out.

i have done crew summer camps, and i loveeee to row!

but i really don't like running.

i'm not very fast, either.

the tryouts are two days, taking place in the gym (exercise room) for two hours each morning.

then (for selected participants) are at the beach, for three nights, two hours per night, and i assume we will be rowing.

for the first two days, i know part of it will be on the erg, which i like and am confortable with. but another part might be running.

do you think it will be?

it is a very high end catholic school, and the team is supposedly very good.

they have a freshman boat, and same for each other grade, but the team practices together.

what do you think they'll have us do at the tryouts?

they're in about four days, and do you think i should start running?

and how much should i practice on the erg per day?

how often and how far should i run?

help please!!!

  1. well that&#039;s a lot to answer but ill do my best. i ran CC for 4 years so at least i can tell you about running. start off with only a mile and slowly increase this you may not see it at first but you Will get better and faster. i know running is not for everyone and not easy but you can do it. breathing is a big part of it and it goes something like this

    in nose let air form in back of mouth and then out mouth its  hard at first but will make running essayer try breathing like this b4 you run and then keep it throw out you whole run. good luck.
