Question:

High school students not allowed to ride buses?

My best friend lives in a town twice the size of mine. She was telling me that the high school kids cannot ride the school buses to and from school. She said it doesnt matter if they live close to the school or far away. Isnt this violating some laws or student rights? She asked a friend who is on the school board there about it and all she said was its always been that way. Thanks.

  1. It costs more money for the school board to send school buses to all the schools. Gas is expensive, and there's paying drivers and the cost just for the buses themselves.

In my high school, a lot of people - like me - use public transportation, which is handy because our school is on a main street.I think it's better that way, because it gives students responsibility, rather than simply having a bus come to them. It's sort of a way of growing up, you know?

  2. HI there,

I guess it is up to the discretion of the individual school districts.  In our district,  everyone has the choice of riding the school bus and I think that is the way it should be...  but you never know... money might be an issue in her district.  It is either... kids get to school on the bus  -  or  -  guys get to play football and sports.  Which do you think is going to win??

Makes no sense but then lots of things make no sense in our country....  not all is fair.

    Thank you for reading. :))
