I am in 8th grade and I am going to be a freshman next year. I have been running cross country since 6th grade and track since 7th. I was wondering if my times would compare quite well to some good high school times.

2 mile-10:42

1 mile- 4:46

800-2:10

400-56.5

  1. to be competitive in the 400 meter 52 seconds is where you need like to be.

  2. You have more potential in the 2 mile and 1 mile than the 800 and 400. But for middle school those time are good. I ran in Pennsylvania and to be super good in high school you had to be running sub 50 in the 400, sub 2:00 in the 800. Good luck with everything.

  3. Dude, you have wonderful track times. You are guaranteed a varsity spot, if not top spot, when you do Track in high school.

I highly recommend training during the offseason. That'll definitely ensure you a time drop and varsity spot.

  4. i am in eight grade also and them times are good for a small school but in big schools they are ok so practice some more in the summer get about 200 miles in over the summer.

  5. I am also in grade eight, but i just started track this year. I won my first 2 mile race in a time of 10:37.  Those times you posted are pretty good, but you should keep practising more.

  6. you have a sweet mile and 400 time. Your 800 is really good for middle school but you will want to drop like 5 sec. You will be reallyyyy fast next year if you keep it up.
