High school wrestling question?

I'm going to be a sophomore and I'll try out for wrestling. My question is will there be like a JV tryout then a Varsity tryout, or will there be one tryout and you'll be sorted? Also, which team should I try out for being new to wrestling?

haha, there are no try outs for wrestling. you just have to be able to beat the person in the JV spot in challenges (they are called that in my school). Since youre new, do Frosh/Soph.

If there is no one else in your weight class, you will automatically take the varsity spot. If there IS someone in the varsity spot, youll go to JV without needing to try. etc.

You all wrestle for the weight class spot, no matter the grade, from 9 -12

If you win you get the varsity spot, but if you don't have to wrestle anyone/ no one else is in your specific weight class, then you automatically get the varsity spot.

If there is a spot a few lbs above or below your weight class, and no one has it, take it so you have a varsity spot.

Just maintain your weight for that class.
